Letters reminding us of the past
Hi
My Dad, Bill Ford used to belong to the club back
in the late forties, early fifties, not sure about the dates. He was an
officer of the club at one point. We'd like to send along some pictures that
we came across that were taken in the early years. If you can use them you
are more than welcome to use them in your history that you are putting
together on the web. I remember the clambakes that we used to have in the
summertime at the Skippack clubhouse. Also the cross country runs that Dad
used to run in with Stan Meyers. Does anybody recall Bill Ford or his brother
Joe Ford? I remember Bill Reiff used to come over at Christmastime and set up
our train set for us when Dad was in the Navy. We ran across the website and
glad to see the club is still going strong. We'd like to get back there
someday to see the clubhouse and maybe meet some of the current members and
see the early pictures in the clubhouse. We moved to Arizona in 1956 and both
my Dad and Joe Ford have passed on. I rode bikes for many years, street
riding and racing in Arizona. Dad rode Indians when in the club and at that
time the club was mostly made up of Indians. We enjoyed the events put on by
the club and the dirt track racing at Hatfield Speedway.
I'd like to hear from anyone, sons or daughters,
of the early club members.
Bill Ford
